A fully automated chemiluminescence analyzer
Model: LIAISON® XL
DiaSorin
LIAISON® XL is a fully automated chemiluminescence analyzer, performing complete sample processing (sample pre-dilutions, sample and reagent dispensing, incubations, wash processes, etc.) as well as measurement and evaluation.
The innovative features of the system allow LIAISON® XL to improve efficiency in the immunoassay laboratories.
LIAISON® XL is a fully automated chemiluminescence analyzer, performing the complete sample processing. LIAISON® XL adopts a “Flash” chemiluminescence technology (CLIA) with paramagnetic microparticle solid phase. The same technology is also used on the LIAISON® analyzer offering a perfect compatibility between the systems.
The reagents area is temperature controlled. The loading bay for reagents allows continuous loading of the LIAISON® XL system of Integrals or Ancillary reagent. For clarity, an LED below each lane indicates the relevant usage status. Up to 25 integrals and up to 4 ancillary reagents can be loaded at the same time. Integrals can be loaded directly in one of the 25 lanes according to the specifications of the LIAISON® XL, multiple of the same Integral can be present in the reagent area at the same time if needed.
Reagent Integrals are managed with a “Quick Release” feature and are released by the system as soon as the requested process is completed. Starter reagents, responsible for initiating the chemiluminescent reaction, are available on board in a dedicated area and continuosly monitored (lot number, quantity available) and allow continuous loading.
The reagent Integral contains all assay specific reagents required to perform the assay. All reagents are ready-to-use and includes the calibrator into the Integral; however there are few exceptions with calibrators supplied as lyophilized component (but in the Integral box) and the HCV assay that require an Ancillary reagent. All the reagents are identified to and monitored by the system. All information concerning number of tests, lot number, stability on board and/ or calibration validity are automatically updated onto the system. Due to the temperature control of the reagent area, most reagent Integrals have a long on board stability.
No sample carry over is observed on the LIAISON® XL due to adoption of single-use sample tips and single use reaction module (cuvettes). The quantity of cuvettes and sample tips on board is monitored by the instrument software. Due to the large storage of disposables on board, the LIAISON® XL permits a extended walk away time.
LIAISON® XL has a designated area for wash solutions and waste materials (solid and liquid). All containors can accessed and removed throughout use of the instrument.
The samples are loaded using 10 racks, each allowing space for 12 samples for a total of 120 samples in continuous loading. Different sized sample tubes can be loaded according with LIAISON® XLsoftware indications.
All racks and samples are identified via a bar code reader and any identification problems (mis-read, etc) are reported to the user.
The “quick release” feature allows the sample in the sampling process rack to be released by the system as soon as it is completed.
The throughput is optimized by splitting the pipetting phases of reagents and samples into different cycles. The innovative technical solution used on the LIAISON® XL, allows double washing capacity and allows the incubator to host up to 80 cuvettes. The optimization of the assay process maintains the throughput of the system as high as possible.
